Journalist José Bernardes hosts our weekly English-language show featuring the latest news and fun facts about Brazil - Screen capture/Brasil de Fato

This week on What’s Happening in Brazil, we report on the decision by capitals in the country to start loosening social isolation measures and resume economic activities despite the ongoing rise in the number of cases and casualties.

The episode also reports on the several demonstrations across the country last June 7, both against President Jair Bolsonaro’s istration and racism, inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement in the USA.

The Culture Talk installment features an initiative in the state of Pernambuco, in which bicycles have been given a new function: to help circulate orientations in the prevention against COVID-19. The “Healthcare Bicycles” is part of the Solidarity Hands campaign.

The Story of the Week showcases a popular funding movement (Finapop), developed to help sponsor local farmers and sustainable agricultural practices.
